Quadstone Paramics is involved in research projects with the FHWA, most recently the Surrogate Safety Assessment Model (SSAM) project providing conflict analysis that analyses the frequency and character of narrowly averted vehicle-to-vehicle collisions in traffic flow at a microscopic level.

The Next Generation Simulation (NGSIM) program was initiated by the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in the early 2000's to provide an open source repository of microscopic traffic modeling data sets and expert knowledge. Quadstone Paramics has served as a key member of the NGSIM community since its inception.
